Tucked into the side of a sloping hill, past the main drag of Madison, Wisconsin sits a store that makes a designers heart beat. I worked there part time and fell in love, even more, when I learned that the store stands as a legacy from one women, an artist back in 1948.

The stores has three locations along the road, all featuring mid-century modern oriented furniture and accessories with Scandinavian influence.

I heard stories of how the buildings garden once hosted art show's in the 70's. How Jane and her husband raised their family on the second floor while they traveled, curating and cultivating and aesthetic relatively untapped to the regional area. The stories that the building held and were echoed by loyal customers has not for some time been reflected in the company's marketing.

I created a deck to present to the store's owners, expressing my goal to re-orient the companies brand identity and develop and strategy that rang true to the stores origins.

...that deck landed me a position as the store manager, which has allowed me to lead and a create systems with a wonderfully creative group of people. It has allowed me to travel on buying trips and create continuity and inspiration in new products.
